Key Ideas

Tech

‣ Pick-and-place 3D printing

‣ AI pilot for adaptable automated construction

‣ Multiple tools on one robot (claw, hammer, etc.)

‣ Cable-driven platform scales to building site

‣ Entire rig transported with single pickup truck; easy to set up, tear down, and repair

Key Ideas

Material

‣ Three basic ingredients (clay, aggregate, binder) mixed into “cob” (aka "monolithic adobe")

‣ All natural and recyclable

‣ Abundant and available on-site or nearby; often treated as waste material (low financial cost)

‣ Drastically lower embodied CO2 than competing materials (low environmental cost)

Business model

We sell walls to developers

Our primary clients are housing developers who:
‣ Promote dense and semi-dense multifamily housing
‣ Design walkable, mixed use settlement patterns
‣ Build between 10–100 houses /year

We occasionally work with:
‣ Sustainable businesses on commercial buildings
‣ Small developers, housing co-operatives, and families

Business Model

B2B: Home BUilderS

Our walls are designed to plug into mid- and large-scale developer workflows. Terran walls interface with common floor, roof and foundation assemblies using readily available connectors, and they can be suited to all manner of climates and jurisdictions. We take care of everything structural from bottom plate to top plate.

Products

Walls

‣ Non-toxic
‣ Durable; can last centuries
‣ Naturally sound- and fireproof
‣ Passive humidity regulation soothes airways
‣ Passive solar mass maintain comfortable temperature
‣ Mentally soothing organic style
‣ Can be imaginatively sculpted

Products

Buildings

Simplified wall assembly integrates structure, finishes, and insulation, eliminating extraneous materials and labor

Walls pair with common floor, ceiling, roof, and foundation types, and use standard connectors

Current capabilities:
‣ Approximately $200 per linear foot
‣ Meets or exceeds code requirements for compression, MOR, and R-value

WHOLE SUN OFFICE & WAREHOUSE (in permitting)

A 1,200 sq. ft. office and showroom space adjacent to a 2,500 sq. ft. warehouse for a solar panel installation company.

Projects

Density

BLOOMINGTON ADUs (permitted)

A project in partnership with the city of Bloomington, IN to design earthen ADUs at 900 sq. ft., 700 sq.ft , and 500 sq. ft., ready for rapid deployment.
